Prostitute Saints

Prostitute Saints
Saint Mary of Egypt, for a great many years, was a prostitute in Alexandria in the middle fourth century.
Mary Magdalene is one of the Catholic Church’s most famous saints. She was known as a prostitute until Magdalene’s designation as prostitute wasofficially reversed by the Catholic Church in 1969).
Saint Aphrodite (a christianization of the Greek sex-goddess and whore-mother, Aphrodite) was a prostitute.
The three sisters known variously as Saint Irene, Saint Agape, and Saint Chionia; or as Saint Hope, Saint Faith, and Saint Charity, were all prostitutes.
