The most famous prostitute in the world stands at about 11 1/2 inches tall and is widely loved by little girls around the world. If you haven't already guessed to whom I am referring to, it's America's sweetheart, Barbie. The Barbie Doll was originally a doll from Germany. The doll's original name was Lilli. The doll's appearance was modelled after a comic book character named Lilli Das Bild. In the comic strip Lilli was a sexy, sultry, hooker aimed at men. This was the complete opposite of the ideals Ruth wanted the doll to represent: purity and innocence. With a few changes to the heavy make-up, full lips and slight alterations Barbie was created. As were lilli's nipples removed.
